Fall: Observing Seasonal Variation
ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps observe seasonal variations of trees and weather and how they change over time in the yearly cycle. ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps investigate the water cycle and cloud formation. Throughout the year, students record observations of variables such as temperature, length of day, and cloud cover, to develop an understanding of the typical weather conditions expected during each season. ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps also examine how plant structures aid in plant growth and survival, and how these structures may be influenced by environmental factors.

Spring: Analyzing Seasonal Variation
ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps continue collecting weather data, and learn more about the atmosphere. ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps learn how energy is transferred by moving air masses. ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps investigate both how air can supply force to objects, and how heat energy is transferred between objects. ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps learn how to distinguish weather and climate. ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps develop their skills at analyzing weather data to identify patterns, and relate these patterns to climate.
