    At Chugach Optional, we create opportunities for learning outside of the traditional classroom. The Garden Club's mission is to learn about gardening by planting and caring for several beds around the grounds and facilitating the Chugach Hens.

  • Our Chickens

    Members of the Garden Club take care of feeding and watering the chickens, and also keep their home nice and clean. Chickens lay eggs and members of our community benefit by sharing in the bounty.‌ If you want to get on the list to receive shared eggs, please sign up on the Garden Club bulletin board across from the office.
Chicoken

  • The garden club meets Wednesday afterschool from 3:00pm - 4:30pm for children in grades 3-6. Our sessions run from Late August to Late October and then start in the spring from March to May. If your child is interested in joining the garden club, please contact Teresa with a completed registration form (available in the front office).  There is limited space and there may be a waiting list.
